Picture yourself riding a colorful Matatu through Nairobi's streets before cooking with a local chef, hand-feeding endangered giraffes and meeting rescued baby elephants, gliding across flamingo-speckled waters at sunrise, and witnessing the Big Five on exhilarating safaris. Immerse yourself in the vibrant traditions of the Maasai people through dance, storytelling, and cultural exchange. Toast to spectacular sunsets in the heart of the savannah with fellow adventurous women.

DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 12 - NAIROBI

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) where a private driver will meet you and provide private transfer to your hotel. Check into Crowne Plaza Nairobi Airport, a luxury hotel offering stylish soundproof rooms, sophisticated restaurant and bar, and modern fitness center. Relax at leisure after your journey. This evening, you will meet your fellow travelers—a diverse and lively group bonded together by the promise of a once-in-a-lifetime African adventure.

Note: We recommend leaving the US by February 11 as you will arrive a day later in Kenya. Please plan to arrive by 3pm local time on February 12. Given that many flights will arrive very early on February 12, we will book your hotel starting on February 11 so you can arrive and check in immediately. This “pre-night” is included in the cost of the itinerary. Should you wish to arrive before 3pm on February 11 instead, a pre-trip hotel charge will be added to your final bill.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13 - NAIROBI

After breakfast, board a colorful Matatu—Nairobi's signature minibus—for an authentic ride through the city's lively streets to the local market. Join Chef Nimoh in her home kitchen for a hands-on cooking class learning to prepare traditional Kenyan dishes like polenta, plantains, and makande, then enjoy your creations for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Villa Rosa Kempinski, a five-star luxury hotel in the heart of Nairobi featuring opulent rooms, world-class dining, and lush gardens. Dine as a group tonight at one the hotel's Tambourin restaurant.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 14 - NAIROBI

Depart for Nairobi National Park—the world's only national park within a capital city—for a morning safari spotting lions, rhinos, giraffes, and zebras against a backdrop of city skyscrapers. Visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage to meet rescued baby elephants and witness their remarkable recovery journey. After a packed lunch, head to the Nairobi Giraffe Centre to hand-feed endangered Rothschild giraffes at eye level. Return to Villa Rosa Kempinski with evening at leisure and maybe take advantage of the spa or gardens to relax before tomorrow's big adventure.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 15 - NAKURU

Travel through Kenya's stunning Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park (approximately 5 hours). Arrive at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, perched atop a hill with panoramic lake views, and enjoy lunch. Afternoon half-day game drive through the park, famed for millions of flamingos that turn the lake pink, plus rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, and over 450 bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner featuring world-class cuisine with optional drinks at the panoramic bar.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 16 - NAKURU

Begin before dawn with a sunrise boat safari, gliding across tranquil Lake Nakuru as flamingos, pelicans, and African fish eagles wake—a magical, peaceful experience. Return to the lodge for lunch, then enjoy free time before an afternoon game drive through diverse park habitats seeking elephants, cheetahs, zebras, and Cape buffalo. Expert driver-guides help identify elusive species and explain the ecosystem. Dinner at the lodge with time to share wildlife stories with fellow travelers.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 17 - MAASAI MARA

Journey to the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve (approximately 5 hours through stunning landscapes). Afternoon game drive through the spectacular Mara where the Big Five roam freely against dramatic savannahs and endless plains.
