A land born of the sea, Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean, is home to some of Italy's most inspiring terrain and a one-of-a-kind culture where a fusion of traditions has given rise to world-class art and cuisine. Over the course of seven spectacular nights, you'll tour the charming city of Palermo, take in the exquisite mosaic interior of Monreale Cathedral, taste wine and olive oil in Marsala, enjoy a pizza-making class in Agrigento, and tour the ancient Sicilian cities of Cefalù and Catania. DAY 1, Saturday - Depart USA
Depart USA for Sicily. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment
DAY 2, Sunday - Arrive in Palermo
Arrive in Palermo and transfer to your hotel. This evening, meet the group at a welcome drink, followed by a welcome dinner at the hotel

DAY 3, Monday - Palermo, Monreale
Begin your first day in Palermo with a lecture on the "History of Sicily" and the role of women in Sicilian society. Afterwards, enjoy a tour of Palermo that includes the Villa Malfinato Whitaker with its beautiful gardens, Casa Professa with its incredible inlaid marble works, the Duomo, and one of Palermo's characteristic open-air markets. Continue to Monreale to visit the city's cathedral, home to some of the most beautiful mosaics in Sicily. Return to Palermo and enjoy the remainder of evening at leisure

DAY 4, Tuesday - Palermo, Mozia Island/ Marsala Wine Estate
Depart for Marsala, known for its namesake Marsala wine. En route, visit Mozia Island and tour its museum. Also view the island's landmark windmills and salt mines before a wine tasting in the historic Cantine Florio. Top the day off with a visit to a nearby wine estate for a cooking class, including a talk on olive oil and the products of the farm, as well as a tour of the estate. Following the tour, enjoy dinner with wine at the estate before returning to Palermo

DAY 5, Wednesday - Palermo, Cefalù, Noble Palace
Today, travel to the ancient town of Cefalù and visit its historic cathedral. The Cathedral of Cefalù is a well-preserved example of Sicilian Romanesque architecture. Although restored in the 1850s, its interior mosaics are fine examples of Byzantine art. Afterwards, enjoy free time for shopping before lunch at a local restaurant. Upon your return to Palermo, visit the residence of a Sicilian princess and enjoy a drink with her before returning to the hotel for dinner

DAY 6, Thursday - Agrigento, Taormina
After breakfast, depart Palermo for Agrigento, the famed site of the ancient Greek city of Akragas. On arrival, visit the area's most celebrated site, the Valley of the Temples, where you will see some of the largest and best preserved temple ruins outside of mainland Greece. Following your visit, enjoy a pizza-making class with lunch before continuing to the popular coastal city of Taormina

DAY 7, Friday - Taormina, Etna
This morning, travel to Mt. Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe. Then continue for a light lunch followed by a visit to the Barone Platania Castello degli Schiavi, a delightful sight, where famous scenes of The Godfather were filmed. Return to Taormina and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon and evening at leisure

DAY 8, Saturday - Taormina, Catania
Visit one of Taormina's premiere attractions, the Greek Theatre, before departing for the ancient Sicilian city of Catania. On arrival, enjoy a panoramic tour of the city, and see the workings of a local fish market. Following your tour, return to Taormina and enjoy free time in the city. This evening, celebrate your final night abroad at a farewell dinner
